General Job Summary
To contract with physicians for inclusion into a National MES Provider Network which in turn allows MES to accommodate the needs of our clients on a national basis.
Essential Job Functions
- Researches sources and makes contact with potential physicians for inclusion in the MES Provider Network.
- Participates in research for setting fees and pricing in states assigned for recruitment.
- Represents MES at conferences, seminars and meetings for the purpose of recruitment of physicians.
- Negotiates, credentials and contracts with physicians for inclusion into the MES Provider Network.
- May renegotiate contracts with currently contracted physicians as the need arises.
- Maintains appropriate professional client and physician contacts to enhance expertise in the field of physician recruitment.
- Receives, processes and provides follow-up regarding clients’ nominations of physicians for inclusion into the MES Provider Network.
- Performs Open Service Requests for appointments in states where we do not currently have existing operations/physician coverage.
- Promotes physician relations; anticipates and responds to needs of others; provides assistance in a courteous manner; treats others with care and respect, maintaining privacy and confidentiality when required.
- Assists in resolving client and/or physician concerns relative to service and report quality issues.
- Provides Supervisor reports in such form and substance as Supervisor may require.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining physician information systems.
- Attends recruitment meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (required)
- Excellent communication skills necessary to provide information to the physician in an interesting, comprehensible and productive fashion (oral and written). Ability to maintain records of physician contacts and to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in the negotiating, contracting and credentialing of physicians for the MES Provider Network.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain a productive working relationship with staff members, physicians and clients.
- Sufficient familiarity with insurance, legal and medical terminology to converse with staff members, physicians and clients.
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment with some exposure to moderate noise from office equipment and/or generated by staff members.
- Frequently utilizes mobile phone, office telephone, fax machine, computer, printer and copy machines.
- Occasional lifting and/or carrying of recruitment or office supplies weighing up to approximately 10 pounds. Generally a sedentary job but requires walking and standing approximately twenty-five percent of the time to carry out job functions such as mailing letters, attending seminars or meetings.
- Requires occasional air travel.
Minimal Level of Preparation and Training
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training in the legal, insurance or medical profession; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
